Structural Audits

Structural audits are performed to assess
the structural integrity and risk of the client’s
assets and infrastructure.

During a structural audit the following tasks are performed:

A criticality assessment is performed in order to rank all assets in terms of risk. This will ensure that assets with a higher risk exposure, where a catastrophic failure would lead to significant impact to business and health & safety, are prioritised.

Interviews are conducted with site personnel and all relevant stakeholders to determine whether all structures are functioning at the intended service levels.

All structures are inspected visually and any defects are identified. All previous condition audit reports are used as basis for the inspections. The design of all structures is verified against existing design drawings and whether the relevant design standards and client specifications are complied with.

Any design defects and deviations from the original design drawings are identified. Suitability and safety of design is determined and supplemented by calculations where necessary. Accordingly, drawings are revised where modifications are required or updated to include any deviations. In extreme cases large scale redesigns may be necessary.
